Revisiting Fundamentals with the Sktchy App

Pencil sketching is a simple activity and yet demands dedication to start doing it right. I’ve been enjoying sketching faces I find on the sktchy app, mainly to make each day count. In the first pages of a sketchbook I started recently, my first sketches consisted of simple marks to create the illusion of form. I started aiming for more elaborate drawings as I began working with softer pencils.

In summer 2020, I first shared my impressions using the Sktchy app to get inspiration for drawing. (Here's a link to that post ) Over that time, I have seen many good drawings and paintings done by artists, and creative pictures submitted by people from different countries. Recently, I found in the app settings an alarm to remind me it's time to draw! and in my previous post, I forgot to mentioned its website delivers learning courses on drawing, painting, and digital media. Though I prefer to keep opinions on products to myself, I realize these tools are worth sharing. Learn more at sktchy.com!

Online learning is the way to go for diving into digital media or learning traditional mixed media tools. With the sktchy website, anyone can access a course only with the premise to have fun, and I like how sktchy positions itself by doing that.
